Perfect walk
Today I actually had a perfect walk with both Quanda and Lukas.
I can’t remember any other walk where Quanda was so well behaved while walking side by side with the stroller. Especially nice in this weather since the road was icy and slippery. Good Quanda!
Also Lukas was happy during the walk and slept the last few minutes. He’s actually still sleeping outside in the driveway.
Snow chaos
It has been a nice winter with lots of snow, but now I’m tiered of it and looking forward to the spring. Since the end of January, we’ve had snow and it feels like we’ve had a another snow storm every few days which makes it hard to get around since our car is just not right in these conditions. Now the temperature has been above zero during the day and all roads are either icy and slippery or muddy.
I guess the massive snow on the terrace has made it impossible for Quanda to find a comfortable place to lie down, but she solved that problem by lying on the table instead.
Climbing
Lukas seems to have forgotten all about his toys and is only interested in a few things now a days: climbing on different kind of boxes, pulling himself up and walking.
The boxes on this picture have been a favorite playground for quite a while now. The different heights make it easy to pull himself up and climb on them. The last week he is also able to pull himself up by the sofa and likes to stand there and talk to me. Yesterday he figured out how to pull himself up with help of the bars in his bed, so now it’s almost impossible to get him to go to sleep. But best of all is walking, but for this activity he still needs a grown ups help…
Lukas’ dinner
Tonight Quanda demonstrated that you just can’t trust a dog… Both off us left the kitchen for a short period of time when our dinner was almost ready and Lukas plate was already on the table. When I came back a second later Quanda was eating Lukas’ meatballs of his plate. Usually lots of Lukas’ food ends up on the floor for Quanda to eat, but I guess she didn’t feel like waiting.

Hairdresser
Here are the before and after pictures of Lukas’ haircut today. I’m very happy with the result. The first time he went to the hairdresser was two months ago and his hair has grown quite a bit since then. I guess the hairdresser is used to cutting small kids. She worked very fast and was ready before Lukas got completely tired of it.
Deer hunt
Yesterday Lukas, Quanda and I went for a walk with my sister-in-law and Ozzy.
After being such a good dog the day before Quanda decided it was time to be a bad dog. On leash she managed to get the buggy of course several times so I tried to unleash her. Then we met two deer and Quanda decided she needed some fun so she tried to chase them. Luckily the snow prefented her from jumping the fence, so I got a hold of her relative fast.
I didn’t have a camera with me, but my sister-in-law did and you can find some pictures on her blog.
Lukas’ new buggy
We’ve had problems before finding a buggy that fits in the car besides the dog cage so Quanda has been traveling on the back seat for almost a year now, but that’s definitely not a good solution. A dog cage is safer, cleaner, easier and more comfortable.
Today we found this mountain buggy swift, which seems to fit our need: fits besides the dog cage, should be suitable for gravel roads, weighs less then the old one and is less clumpy. This afternoon Lukas and I took the new buggy on a test ride. Lukas had a nice nap while I pushed him without problems through the snow. Let’s hope it will continue to satisfy our needs.
